About Sunset Canyon Pottery

Sunset Canyon Pottery was established in 1997 by Bridget and Bill Hauser. Their dream was to build a family business around Bridget’s love for clay. Dripping Springs, Texas became home to this dream with the construction of a “green built” straw bale structure and rainwater collection system to house the Studio and Gallery at the edge of the Texas Hill Country. It includes a large working studio and approximately 900 square feet of gallery and showroom that is managed by their daughter Sarah. A choice was made from the beginning to focus on the wide variety of talented local artists. The idea of being able to showcase Texas-made fine craft became the direction of the gallery. With the addition of nationally-known artists and craftsman the Gallery has developed into a very diverse collection of fine artists. A visit to the showroom will reveal the functional and decorative stoneware that is created in the attached studio as well as complimentary wood, glass, textile and metal craft to mix and adorn any home or garden.

Tours
Tours can happen whenever a visitor is interested in the stoneware process. Most of the production studio is easily visible from the Gallery. However we're happy to oblige those who are more curious and wish to visit with Bridget and the Sunset Canyon Pottery artists.

Bill is more than happy to share his enthusiasm for our strawbale building and rainwater collection system. This green building project is a source of personal and community pride. To learn more about strawbale buildings explore www.greenbuilder.com.

To arrange a bus tour or group tour event, please call in advance. We would like to be prepared and allow the time to make your visit more enjoyable and educational.
